Course Description:
The high prevalence of suicide is a major public health concern and acute care nurses are uniquely positioned to make a difference in the lives of individuals at risk for suicide. This online course supports and strengthens acute care nursing skills to assess and lead life-saving interventions with APNA’s Essential Competencies for Assessment and Management of Individuals at Risk for Suicide. Acute care nurses learn from leading field experts and will be able to apply the evidence-based tools for the prevention of suicide.
Mandatory Training for All:
IPU/CSU/ED Registered Nurses (Hillmont / VCMC / SPH)
Continuing Education:
1.5 contact hours. *In order to receive contact hours for the program, participants must: successfully complete the Acknowledgement, a Pre-Course Self-Assessment Survey, Pre-Assessment Questions, read Articles, earn a passing score on the Post-Test, complete the Post-Course Self-Assessment Survey, Honor Statement and Overall Course Evaluation. You have five tries to correctly answer the questions on the Post-Test. Once you have passed and completed the Overall Course Evaluation and Honor Statement, your Nursing Continuing Professional Development certificate will be generated online and available for immediate printing. Credit cannot be earned unless all components of the course are completed. No partial credit can be awarded.
